Competitions and leaderboards

Free play-money competitions – daily and weekly sprints and private leagues – plus the global leaderboards, trader profiles, XP, levels, streaks and badges.

Updated ·Markdown

Competitions are free to join and use play money only: everyone starts with the same balance and rules and is ranked at the mark price when it ends. Play money can't be bought, paid out or transferred, and nothing here is investment advice.

Click Compete in the dock to open Trading competitions. The header links to Competitions and Leaderboards. Anyone can read public competitions, leaderboards and public profiles; joining, creating leagues and following traders need a Google sign-in.

Your trader name

Competitions and leaderboards never show your Google name. Before you join, you choose a trader name: 3–20 characters – letters, digits, _ or - – with at least one letter. Names are unique regardless of case, some (for example with "chartrider" or "support" in them) are reserved, and you can change yours once every 30 days.

Competition types

TypeWho creates itRules
Daily SprintCreated automatically every day00:00–24:00 UTC, 10,000 USDT, max. 20x, all markets, at least 3 closed trades, ranked by ROI. Registration opens 12 hours before the start.
Weekly SprintCreated automatically every weekMonday 00:00 to Monday 00:00 UTC, 10,000 USDT, max. 20x, all markets, at least 5 closed trades, ranked by ROI. Registration opens 48 hours before the start.
Season, Asset cupChartRiderLonger competitions or competitions on selected markets; the rules box shows the details.
Private leagueAny signed-in traderInvite-only, rules chosen by the creator (see below).

The list has three tabs: Live & upcoming, Past and Mine; each card shows the key rules and Your rank once you take part.

Join a competition

Open a competition and click Join for free. You get a separate account with the competition's starting balance – your free account is not affected. Registration stays open until the end, so you can also join a live competition.

Trade now opens the trading panel with the competition account selected. A banner shows the time left, the maximum leverage and the allowed markets; orders are accepted from the start on, and orders on other markets, above the maximum leverage or after the end are rejected. The rules box lists Starting balance, Markets, Max. leverage, Scoring, Minimum trades, Participants and Period (in your local time).

Scoring and ranking

ScoringScore
ROI (%) (default)(equity − starting balance) ÷ starting balance × 100
Absolute PnL (USDT)equity − starting balance
ROI ÷ max. drawdownROI ÷ max. drawdown in %, with the drawdown counted as at least 1 %
  • Equity is the balance plus unrealized PnL at the mark price.
  • Max. drawdown is the largest drop from the highest balance so far (starting at the starting balance), in %.
  • Trades counts closed or liquidated positions. With fewer than the Minimum trades, you are listed but not ranked ("Needs at least N closed trade(s)").
  • Tie-breakers: lower max. drawdown, then more trades, then earlier registration.

The competition leaderboard (Rank, Trader, Score, ROI, PnL, Max. DD, Trades) updates about every minute and lists every participant with their results. Your trader name only appears there if your profile is public – otherwise other people see Anonymous trader in your row (you always see your own name).

At the end, open orders are cancelled and open positions are valued at the mark price and closed. The status changes to Ended – under review, then to Final results, and you get a notification with your rank. While a review is open, rows show Under review; a trader can be Disqualified after a review.

Private leagues

Create private league sets up an invite-only competition for you and your friends: up to 100 participants, at most 90 days, at most 3 leagues of yours at a time. You choose name, description, start and end, a starting balance of 1,000, 10,000 or 100,000 USDT, the maximum leverage (1–50x, default 20x), the markets (empty = all), the minimum closed trades (default 3) and the scoring.

You join your league automatically. Its page shows the invite code with Copy link; friends join through the link or by entering the code in Invite code → Join on the competitions page. Leagues are never listed publicly.

Global leaderboards

Leaderboards compares free paper accounts by ROI in three periods: This week (from Monday 00:00 UTC), This season (the calendar quarter) and All-time. Tabs:

  • Global – rank, trader, ROI, trades and max. drawdown. Equity and amounts are not shown.
  • By market – the return of trades closed on one market in the period: their net result (realized PnL minus fees and funding) in % of your account at the start of the period. No amounts are shown.
  • Friends – the traders you follow, and you.

You appear only after opting in with Show me in global leaderboards and make my profile public (with your trader name in brackets) – it is off by default and you can switch it off at any time. To be ranked you need at least 5 closed trades in the period. Resetting your free account ends your ranking for the periods currently running. The boards are recalculated every few minutes.

Trader profile

Click a trader name in a leaderboard to open the profile: level, Paper trader since, followers, global ranks for the three periods, statistics (ROI since start, closed trades, win rate, max. drawdown, average holding time, favourite markets), finished public competitions and badges. Balances are never shown.

Profiles are private until you opt in; while yours is private, others only see "This profile is private." You can Follow public profiles (up to 500) to compare yourself with them on the Friends tab.

Notifications and sharing

The bell in the top bar tells you when a competition you joined starts and when its final results are in, when you climb into the top 100, 10 or 3 of the weekly leaderboard (public profiles only), and when you earn a badge or level. Share my result or Share my rank creates a card with ROI % and rank only – no amounts.
