Efficient Breakout Consolidation

#What you see

• A shaded box in the block color over the consolidation candles, from their highest high to their lowest low.
• A vertical line in Breakout color at the breakout candle, with an arrow pointing right for a breakout upward and left for a breakout downward.

Only consolidations that actually broke out are drawn.

#How it works

A block is a run of Consolidation length candles that are all indecision candles – small bodies compared with their range (Max. Body/Range) – and whose average volume is clearly higher than the volume before the block (Min. Volumenfaktor). The candle right after the block is the breakout candle. It must be a strong candle with a large body (Breakout: Min Body/Range), trade on clearly more volume than the block (Breakout: Min Volumenfaktor), and close above the block's high for an upward breakout or below its low for a downward breakout.

#How to read it

Rising volume while price stalls suggests that positions are being built; the breakout candle shows which side won. The block's range is a natural reference for a stop, and the block itself is often retested after the breakout. Strict settings give few, clear blocks; loose settings mark many small pauses.

Volume is part of every condition, so the indicator needs markets with meaningful volume data.

#Using it in strategies

Efficient Breakout Consolidation is a visual tool: it has no outputs for the Trade Setup or for use indicator in WickScript.

#Settings

Open the settings with the slider icon next to the indicator (Indicators, F3). Numeric settings can be swept as Step 1 / Step 2 parameters when you run a strategy.
