Account, plans and invites
Signing in with Google, what works without an account, how features are unlocked, how invites unlock WickScript for good, who can see your strategies and trades, the settings (F10), and how to have your data deleted.
You don't need an account to look at charts. Signing in with Google creates a free account for paper trading, competitions and strategies. There is no real money in ChartRider and nothing to pay.
Open the sign-in dialog from any Sign in button and continue with Google. The first sign-in creates your account with your Google name; nothing else to fill in. You stay signed in on this browser for 14 days. Sign out in the top bar (desktop) signs you out.
Instead of Google you can continue as guest with a display name. A guest name is enough to explore charts and indicators; everything marked below needs Google.
| Feature | Without sign-in | With Google |
|---|---|---|
| Charts, timeframes, indicators, drawing tools, Go to | ✓ | ✓ |
| Drawings and settings | Saved in this browser | Saved to your account |
| Session Volume Profile from ticks | – | ✓ |
| Paper trading | View the market data only | ✓ 10,000 USDT of play money |
| Competitions and leaderboards | Read only | Join, create leagues, follow traders |
| Strategies and Backtest | – | ✓ |

| Invite link | – | ✓ |
When you sign in with Google, drawings you made before in this browser move into your account the next time you open their market.
Plans and features
Signing in gives you a free account; the sign-in dialog calls it Free account · play money. ChartRider has no payments, deposits or payouts – play money can't be bought or paid out.
Not every feature is part of every account. A feature your account doesn't include simply doesn't appear: for example, Play (Replay) is missing from the dock, and the Scripts tab is replaced by a locked Scripts chip in the Strategies panel. WickScript can be unlocked by anyone through invites.
Invite friends
Open Invite in the top bar, Invite friends in Help (F1), or the locked Scripts chip. The dialog shows your personal link – https://chartrider.com/?ref= followed by your code – with Copy and buttons to share it on X, Telegram, WhatsApp, Reddit or through your device (More…).
- What counts: a friend opens your link and signs in with Google for the first time, which creates a new ChartRider account. Only new accounts count, once each. Existing accounts, guest names and your own account don't count.
- Your reward: after 3 accepted invites, WickScript is unlocked for your account for good. The dialog shows your progress (
2 / 3 friends), and a message appears when it is unlocked. - Shared links count too: chart and trade links you share from ChartRider carry your invite code, so people who sign up through them count as your invites.
- The code travels only in the link – there is no cookie. Your friend should sign in right after opening the link; they see You were invited to ChartRider.
Who sees what
Strategies, scripts and backtests. Your strategies (Trade Setup, indicators, WickScript scripts, watchlist) are kept in your browser's storage. When you start a run ("Run strategy"), the app sends a copy of the strategy with your account ID to the ChartRider server, which plans the individual runs; the computation happens in your browser and the results stay there. Other users can see neither your strategies nor your runs – only you and ChartRider's administrators (for operation and troubleshooting). Because they live in your browser, strategies are not synced between browsers or devices (see Strategies).
Paper trading and competitions. Your Google name and email are never shown publicly. Leaderboards, competitions and profiles use the trader name you choose. Your profile and your place in the global leaderboards stay private until you switch them on. When you join a competition, your results appear on that competition's leaderboard – with your trader name if your profile is public, otherwise as Anonymous trader. Share cards show ROI % and rank only, no amounts.
Settings (F10)
Settings in the dock (F10) has two groups:
- Chart Settings – Rising candles and Falling candles (colours, with Reset), Background grid, Break-even line, Spike wick highlight, Executions, Execution values and Seconds chart. Hover a setting for its description.
- Display → Time zone – Browser (the time zone of this device, the default), UTC, a list of common zones, or any other zone your browser knows. It changes all times in the app – chart axis, crosshair, clock, replay, Go to, panels and paper trading – but not the candles themselves. See Time zone.
Signed in, your settings are saved to your account; without an account, in this browser.
Delete your data or get in touch
There is no delete button in the app. To have your account and its data deleted, or to use any other right under data protection law, contact ChartRider – the privacy policy explains what is stored, for how long, and how to reach the data protection contact. Questions, feedback and bug reports go through the contact form, or ask the community on Telegram (Community in the dock).
Data that lives only in your browser – strategies, run results, and drawings and settings without an account – is removed when you clear this site's data in your browser.
