Seconds chart

A live chart of 1-second candles from the last three minutes, built from the trade feed and shown in the bottom-left corner of the chart.

What you see

The seconds chart is a small live chart in the bottom-left corner of the price chart. It shows 1-second candles of the last 3 minutes, built in your browser from the market's live trade feed. When you open a market, it first loads the trades of the last three minutes, so it starts with a full window instead of an empty one.

There is no 1-second timeframe in the top bar: the seconds chart sits on top of whatever timeframe you are viewing, as the lowest box of the HUD stack.

Reading it

  • Header: "1 SEC · LAST 3 MIN". The dot is green while trades arrived within the last 10 seconds and amber otherwise.
  • Right side of the header: the ATR(14) of the 1-second candles and the scale, "±25 ATR".
  • Candles: in your chart colours (Rising candles and Falling candles in Settings), slightly transparent so the chart underneath stays visible.
  • Faint vertical lines mark full minutes.
  • Dashed horizontal line: the price at the moment the scale was last set.
  • Light line to the right edge: the latest close.

"Loading trades…" shows while the last three minutes load, "Waiting for trades…" when no trades have arrived yet.

The scale

The vertical scale is not a fixed price range. Its middle is the close of the current 1-second candle, and it reaches 25 times the ATR(14) of the 1-second candles above and below that price. A quiet market and a fast one both fill the box in a readable way, so use the ATR value in the header to judge how large the moves really are.

The scale does not move every second. It is set again after 15 seconds, or after 5 seconds already when the price leaves the inner 60 % of the box, with a short smooth transition. Prices beyond the scale are cut off at the edge of the box.

Where it shows

  • On desktop only.
  • Only for markets with a live trade feed.
  • Not during a replay – it always shows live trades.
  • Only when the chart has enough room. On low charts it gets smaller, and it is left out when it no longer fits.

The seconds chart doesn't catch the mouse: you can pan, zoom and right-click the chart underneath it. The grips of paper trading lines and the handles of a selected drawing stay visible above it.

Turn it on or off

Open Settings (F10) → Chart Settings → Seconds chart and choose Show or Hide. It is on by default.

Generated from the ChartRider source code on every release – settings, outputs and the WickScript reference always match the app.
