Symbols and watchlist
Find a market in the symbol table (F2), filter it by name, category or average daily volume, and star markets for the watchlist of your active strategy.
Open the symbol table
Press F2 or click Symbols in the dock (on a phone: Symbols in the bottom bar). The panel opens next to the chart and has two lists: your Watchlist at the top and All markets below. Click a row to open that market in the timeframe you are on.
Only markets with live data are listed. They are sorted by average daily volume, highest first. ChartRider's own markets, marked Play money instead of a volume, stand at the top. The list loads more rows as you scroll.
Search and filter
Type into Search symbol, exchange · v>1m:
- Every word must appear in the symbol, the exchange or the category. Case does not matter, and words can be part of a name:
btc bybitfinds the Bitcoin markets on Bybit. v>andv<filter by average daily volume. Usek, morbfor thousand, million and billion:v>1m,v<500k,v>2b.- Combine both:
usdt v>10m v<100m.
The chips below the search field filter by category: All, Index, Perpetuals, Inverse, Spot, Forex and Indices. Only categories that have markets are shown, each with its count.
What a row shows
- A badge with the first letters of the coin, then the symbol as base/quote.
- Exchange, category and Vol (average daily volume).
- A 24-hour sparkline, the last price and the 24-hour change.
- A star for the watchlist.
If you opened the chart from a strategy run, the watchlist rows show the run's capital factor (CF) for that market instead of the volume: green above 1, red below 1. See Metrics.
The watchlist belongs to your strategy
The watchlist is not a global favorites list. Each strategy has its own watchlist, and the symbol table always shows the one of the active strategy. Its name appears in the header: Watchlist · My strategy.
The watchlist selects the markets for Run strategy: it tests the active strategy on every market of its watchlist. See Run strategy.
To edit the watchlist:
- Click the star ☆ on a market to add it. Click the filled star to remove it, in either list.
- The list icon next to the search field adds every market that matches your current search and category.
- The sweep icon next to it removes all markets from the watchlist at once, without asking.
Without an active strategy the two icons are greyed out with the hint Select a strategy (F6) to use the watchlist. The Strategies panel is available once you are signed in (see Strategies).
Watchlist in the Strategies panel
The Strategies panel (F6) shows the same watchlist above Run strategy:
- If it is empty, + Add followed by the current symbol puts the chart's market on it, and Choose markets opens the symbol table.
- Otherwise it lists the first three markets and the count of the rest. A + button with the current symbol adds the chart's market if it is missing, and Edit opens the symbol table.
Changes are saved with the strategy, so switching to another strategy also switches the watchlist.
