Chart menu

Right-click the chart for a radial menu with trading, drawing, view and indicator actions at the price and time under the cursor.

Updated ·Markdown

Open the menu

Right-click anywhere in the chart. A radial menu opens around the cursor. The cursor is the point every entry works with: the time of the candle under it and the price there, rounded to the tick size. The center shows that price and the date and time in your time zone.

Near the edge of the chart the circle moves inward so it fits; a dashed line then connects it to the point you clicked.

The inner ring holds the groups. Pointing at a group fans out its entries; some entries fan out a third ring with sub-entries (for example Orders → an order → Take profit here).

Two ways to choose

  • Point and click: right-click, move over a group, click an entry.
  • Flick: hold the right mouse button, move towards the entry and let go. You don't have to stop at the group, and the gesture works through all three rings. Letting go without moving keeps the menu open for clicking.

Entries that don't apply right now are shown greyed out. Hover one and the center tells you why, for example No open position or Sign in to paper trade.

The menu closes with Esc, scrolling, a click outside, or a new right-click (which opens it again at the new spot).

In the menu legend under Help (F1), the groups that only appear when they apply have a dashed ring.

Trade

  • Long here / Short here: an order at the clicked price, a limit order on the favourable side of the market and a stop order on the other side. The Trade panel opens with the order filled in. If a quantity is already entered there, the order is placed right away, with the same checks as the order buttons.
  • Take profit / Stop loss: sets that level on your open position in this market right away. The center shows the expected result first. Greyed out without a position or on the wrong side of the price.

See Orders for the order types.

Orders

Attaches a take profit or stop loss at the clicked price to a resting entry order; it moves to the position when the order fills. Remove TP/SL lets the order fill without them.

Draw and Drawing

The tools are described in Drawing tools.

Chart

  • Go to now: jumps to the latest candle, and loads it first if you had jumped into the past with Go to.
  • Fit prices: fits the price axis to the visible candles.
  • Copy price: copies the clicked price to the clipboard.
  • Share chart: the same link with a preview image as Share in the top bar.

Indicators

For Fractal Circles and the Mandelbrot Set, which you place by time:

  • Start here sets the start at the clicked candle. If there is no end to the right of it, your next click in the chart sets the end.
  • End here sets the end.
  • Pick range: click the start, then the end in the chart. While you pick, the entry reads Stop picking.
  • Clear removes the placement from the chart.

The change is saved in the active strategy, like any other indicator setting.

When the menu does not open

  • During a replay the menu and the drawing tools are off.
  • If the cursor is over a Fibonacci Circles element, right-click locks it instead; the next right-click releases it.
  • On touch screens there is no chart menu.
