Charts
How the ChartRider chart is laid out and how you switch timeframes, zoom, pan, share the chart and export its data.
Layout
On a desktop screen the chart page has four parts:
- Top bar: the ChartRider logo (back to the home page), the candle interval bar, Share and a clock. When you are signed in, notifications, Invite, your name and Sign out appear there too.
- Chart: candles in the middle, the price axis on the right, the time axis below. The Go to button sits in the corner where both axes meet (see Go to).
- Dock: a column of buttons on the right edge. Panels such as Symbols or Indicators open next to the chart.
- Status bar at the bottom: status messages, the progress of a running strategy, a music player and your connection ping.

Timeframes
The interval bar groups the timeframes into minutes (1m, 3m, 5m, 15m, 30m), hours (1h, 90m, 2h, 3h, 4h, 6h, 12h) and calendar intervals (D, W, M for day, week and calendar month). The active one is highlighted. Ten of them have shortcuts, shown on the buttons with ⌥:
| Keys | Timeframe | Keys | Timeframe |
|---|---|---|---|
Alt + 1 | 1m | Alt + 6 | 1h |
Alt + 2 | 3m | Alt + 7 | 2h |
Alt + 3 | 5m | Alt + 8 | 4h |
Alt + 4 | 15m | Alt + 9 | 6h |
Alt + 5 | 30m | Alt + 0 | 12h |
When you switch, the chart keeps your place: if the current candle was in view, the new timeframe opens at the current candle; if you were looking at the past, it centers on the same time.
Zoom, pan and the price axis
- Scroll wheel: zoom in and out around the cursor.
- Drag: move through time. More history loads when you reach the edge.
- Drag the price scale: stretch or compress the price axis. Double-click the price scale to fit it to the visible candles again (also Fit prices in the chart menu).
- Price line: the current price. The bar on the last candle shows how much of its interval has passed.
- Legend: hover a candle to see its open, high, low, close and volume. More on the legend and the other overlays in HUDs.
Right-click anywhere in the chart for the chart menu with drawing tools, Go to now, Copy price and more.
Share a chart
Share in the top bar (or Share chart in the chart menu) creates a link to this market and timeframe with a live preview image of the chart. On a phone the system share sheet opens; on a desktop the link is copied and the button shows Link copied. If you have an invite code, the link carries it, so people who sign up through it count as your invites (see Account).
Export candles and indicator values
Ctrl + Alt + E downloads candles_and_indicators.csv with all loaded candles of the chart. Columns: datetime (UTC, ISO 8601), open, high, low, close, volume, then one column per indicator output, named Indicator name:output.
On a phone
Below 768 px width the layout changes:
- A navigation bar at the bottom replaces the dock and the status bar: Symbols, Indicators, Trade, Share, Help and Fullscreen (when the browser supports it).
- The interval bar scrolls sideways and keeps the active timeframe in view.
- Pinch to zoom, drag to move through time, tap for a crosshair with the values of that candle. The price axis follows the visible candles automatically.
- The right-click chart menu, the drawing tools, Strategies, Backtest, Play, Settings and keyboard shortcuts are only available on a desktop.
