# ICT Silver Bullet

> Detects ICT Silver Bullet setups – a liquidity sweep, a market structure shift and a fair value gap in the Silver Bullet hours – and draws entry, stop, target and a cleanliness score for each.

## What you see
For every setup:
- **Swept liquidity:** a dashed line from the level to the candle that ran through it, labelled "… swept": REH / REL (relative equal highs / lows), PDH / PDL (previous day high / low), Asia or London H / L, or BSL / SSL for a swing high / low. A circle marks the sweep extreme.
- **MSS:** a dashed line at the minor high (long) or low (short) that price broke.
- **FVG:** the fair value gap used for the entry, until it is filled.
- **Trade:** a green zone from entry to target and a red zone from entry to stop. The entry line is dashed until filled; the target label shows the liquidity aimed for and the reward in R.
- **Badge**, e.g. "SB Long 72%": direction, score and status – waiting for fill, open, win, loss, expired or missed. "skipped" marks a filled setup that overlaps an earlier open one.

The Silver Bullet hours are shaded, REH / REL levels drawn, and a statistics box sums up the setups.

## How it works
The ICT Silver Bullet is a time-based model with three one-hour windows in New York time (US daylight saving applied): 03:00–04:00 (London), 10:00–11:00 (AM) and 14:00–15:00 (PM). A setup needs
1. a sweep of liquidity – price runs through a level where stops rest,
2. a market structure shift (MSS) – a close beyond the last minor swing high (long) or low (short) before the sweep extreme,
3. a fair value gap in that displacement leg, formed inside an enabled window when the hours are required.

The entry is a limit at the gap's edge or its middle (consequent encroachment, CE), the stop sits beyond the sweep extreme, and the target is the next untaken liquidity at least Min R away – otherwise a fixed target. An unfilled setup expires after a few candles; one that reaches its target first is "missed". Stop and target in the same candle count as a loss.

Detection is causal: a setup uses only candles up to its confirmation, and the forming live candle confirms nothing, so past setups look as they would have appeared live.

The score (0–1, shown in %) rates how clean the setup is; the badge border runs from red to green, and Show score breakdown lists its parts (liquidity, displacement, MSS, FVG, premium/discount, timing, reward). The statistics box counts the setups on the loaded candles that pass the filters – fills, wins, losses and R before fees – once for all setups and once with one position at a time.

## Using it in strategies
The setups the chart shows – after the Min cleanliness and Direction filters – are available as outputs in the [Trade Setup](https://chartrider.com/docs/strategies/trade-setup/) and in [WickScript](https://chartrider.com/docs/wickscript/):

- `long` / `short` are 1 on the candle where a setup becomes armed and 0 otherwise – use them as triggers.
- `entry`, `stop`, `target`, `score`, `rr` and `side` describe the most recently armed setup that is still running, from its candle until the candle where it ends (filled and stopped or at target, missed or expired). In the Trade Setup, place a limit entry at `entry` and take stop loss and take profit from the `stop` and `target` lines.

A setup only exists from the close of the candle that arms it, so backtests never see one early. In WickScript: `use indicator "Silver Bullet" as sb`, then for example `when sb.long > 0 … end` with `enter long at limit sb.entry`, `stop at sb.stop` and `target at sb.target`. For equal highs and lows alone, use [REH / REL](https://chartrider.com/docs/indicators/reh-rel/).

## Settings

Open the settings with the slider icon next to the indicator (Indicators, `F3`). Numeric settings can be swept as Step 1 / Step 2 parameters when you run a strategy.

### Filter

| Setting | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Min cleanliness | Slider | `0.5` | Hides setups whose cleanliness score is below this value (0–1). Changes only the drawing and the statistics. |
| Direction | Choice | Long + Short | Show long setups, short setups or both. Options: Long + Short, Long only, Short only. |
| Show expired / missed setups | On/off | off | Also show setups that expired without a fill or reached their target without filling. |

### Setup

| Setting | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Silver Bullet hours | Choice | Auto (required up to 15m) | Whether the FVG must form inside the Silver Bullet hours. Auto requires it on charts up to 15 minutes and allows any time on higher timeframes. Options: Auto (required up to 15m), Always required, Off (any time). |
| 03–04 New York (London) | On/off | on | Use the 03:00–04:00 New York hour. |
| 10–11 New York (AM) | On/off | on | Use the 10:00–11:00 New York hour. |
| 14–15 New York (PM) | On/off | on | Use the 14:00–15:00 New York hour. |
| Entry | Choice | FVG edge | Limit entry at the edge of the FVG that price reaches first, or at its 50 % level (CE). Options: FVG edge, FVG 50% (CE). |
| Min R to liquidity target | Number | `1.5` | Minimum reward in R for the liquidity target: the nearest untaken liquidity at least this far away becomes the target. |
| Min FVG size (× ATR) | Number | `0.1` | Smallest FVG that counts, as a multiple of the ATR. |
| Equal H/L tolerance (× ATR, 0 = auto) | Number | `0` | How close highs (lows) must be to count as relative equal highs (lows), as a multiple of the ATR. 0 picks a value that suits the chart timeframe. |
| Swing strength in bars (0 = auto) | Number | `0` | Number of candles on each side that define a swing used as liquidity. 0 picks a value that suits the chart timeframe. |

## Outputs

These values can be used in Trade Setup triggers, filters and exits (see [Trade Setup](https://chartrider.com/docs/strategies/trade-setup/)) and in WickScript.

| Output | In WickScript | Description |
|---|---|---|
| long | `long` | 1 on the candle where a long setup becomes armed, otherwise 0. |

| rr | `rr` | Reward-to-risk of the running setup, in R. |

## Use in WickScript

`use indicator` creates this indicator inside a script, with settings by their ID. Each output is a field of the name after `as`. See [WickScript indicators](https://chartrider.com/docs/wickscript/indicators/).

```wickscript
wickscript 1
indicator "ICT Silver Bullet from the list" on chart
use indicator "Silver Bullet" with minRR 1.5 as mySilverbullet
show mySilverbullet.long as line "long"
```
