## What you see
On charts below the 1-hour timeframe:
- **Sessions:** a background tint for Asia (00:00 to 08:00 UTC), London (08:00 to 13:00 UTC) and New York (14:30 to 21:00 UTC, the US stock market hours); in summer time London (European dates) and New York (US dates) are one hour earlier. Each session has a vertical line at its start and labelled lines at its high and low ("NY H", "NY L").
- **NY Midnight Open:** the open of the candle at 00:00 New York time, drawn until 11:00 New York time.
- **NY Lunch H/L:** high and low of 12:00 to 13:30 New York time, drawn across that window.
- **NY PM H/L:** high and low of 13:30 to 16:00 New York time, extended until the next New York session opens.
- **London Raid H/L:** high and low of 06:00 to 09:00 UTC, fixed in UTC without a summer-time shift.
- **Macro zone:** a shaded band from 15:15 to 15:45 New York time.
- **Opening range gap (ORG):** if the first New York candle opens away from the last close of the previous New York session, a zone between the two prices spans the hours in between, labelled "ORG Up" or "ORG Down". It turns fainter and is marked "(filled)" once a later candle has traded through the whole gap.

Apart from the session tint (set the opacity to 0 to hide it), each element has its own switch.

## How it is calculated
Each element is a fixed time window. A candle belongs to a window by its open time; the levels are the highest high and lowest low of the candles in the window. New York times follow US daylight saving time (second Sunday in March to first Sunday in November), London times the European dates.

## How to read it
Many intraday traders, especially in ICT-style trading, watch these levels: session highs and lows as liquidity that price often takes before reversing, the midnight open as the day's bias line, and an unfilled opening range gap as a magnet.

## Using it in strategies
In the [Trade Setup](https://chartrider.com/docs/strategies/trade-setup/) and in [WickScript](https://chartrider.com/docs/wickscript/) (`use indicator "Sessions" as st`, then e.g. `st.mo`) the outputs listed below are available. The highs and lows are running values: on each candle they include only the candles of the window up to that one, so a backtest sees exactly what was known at the time. The lines on the chart still show the complete window. For your own session logic, WickScript also has the series `session`, `killzone`, `hour` and `weekday`.

## Use in WickScript

`use indicator` creates this indicator inside a script, with settings by their ID. Each output is a field of the name after `as`. See [WickScript indicators](https://chartrider.com/docs/wickscript/indicators/).

```wickscript
wickscript 1
indicator "Session Times from the list" on chart
use indicator "Sessions" as mySessions
show mySessions.h as line "h"
```
